Columbia Gorge Surgery Center (CGSC) is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing
Technician/Materials Management for a part time to full time position.
CGSC is the only independent Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) in the Columbia Gorge area, and we serve patients from all over North-central Oregon and southern Washington. Since our opening in 2010, we have performed over 7,000 surgical procedures in the areas of orthopedics, podiatry, and ophthalmology. We are licensed by the State of Oregon, certified by Medicare, and accredited by AAAHC. Our vision is to be the #1 choice for same-day surgery in the Columbia Gorge!
Essential Functions:
- Assessing and prioritizing instrumentation to ensure surgical sets are clean, sterile and complete
- Conducting quality control checks on instrumentation for function, defects, breakage, and overall general condition
- Assembling of surgical instrumentation sets
- Operating sterilization machinery in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions and departmental procedures
- Maintains thorough and accurate sterilization documentation and record keeping by maintaining permanent records and test results
- Performs required biological / chemical monitoring tests and maintains test logs
- Assembles case carts for surgical procedures
- Assists with room turn-over between surgical cases
- Assists with the rotation of stock and out-of-date supplies
- Maintain a good working professional relationship with all Vendors
- Order all supplies and other equipment weekly
- Maintain inventory par levels
Requirements for this position:
- High School diploma or GED
- Sterile Technician certification
- Materials Management experience
- Current BLS certification
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- All employees must be able to provide proof of their identity and their right to work in the
United States
Preferred:
- ASC Experience
- One (1) year experience in sterile processing and/or Materials Management
- 1 year+ of college education in medical field
