This is lead supervisory and participatory work of a physical nature in the performance of stormwater, stormwater quality, and pavement maintenance activities including landscaping, line clearing, CCTV, construction, seawall construction and repair, pavement repair, sidewalk and Curbs construction and repair, and brick work involving manual skills; organizing a small work crew to complete the previously listed tasks; and determining procedures to carry out assignments received through written and oral instructions. Work includes the operation of light-duty and heavy-duty automotive equipment and power tools (target saw, air compressor, and generator), specialized machines, and small turf equipment, such as chain saws, trimmers, and mowers, to maintain grounds. An employee in this class personally participates in the work, may perform the more skilled and difficult tasks, and performs heavy manual labor, occasionally under adverse weather conditions. The typical schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM until 3:30 PM.
Salary: $24.42 - $34.09 Hourly

To Qualify
Minimum Qualifications. Applicants must:
- Possess a valid high school diploma or GED equivalency.
- Possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Class "B" Commercial Driver License (CDL) with "N" endorsement at time of appointment.
- Successfully pass a FWPCOA Stormwater Level III (C) Certification Test within 12 months of appointment to the position.
- Possess and maintain a FDOT Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic Certification or be able to obtain the certification within 12 months of appointment to the position.
- Possess and maintain a Florida Nursery Growers and Landscape Association’s Certified Horticulture Professional Certification or be able to obtain the certification within 12 months of appointment to the position.
- Possess and maintain a Florida Department of Agriculture Pesticide Applicators License for right-of-way, ornamental/turf and aquatics or be able to obtain the license within 12 months of appointment to the position.
- Have at least 18 months of stormwater, pavement, and/or traffic maintenance experience including knowledge of best management practices.
- Possess effective written and oral communication skills.
- Acknowledge this position is designated as Emergency Critical (EC) and if hired into the position, you must be immediately available to the department before, during, and after a declared emergency and/or disaster.
Desirable Qualifications: Preferred applicants:
- Have at least six (6) months supervisory experience of a stormwater, pavement, and/or traffic maintenance crew.
- Have an FWPCOA Stormwater Level II (B) Certification.
- Are able to prepare routine reports and maintain records.
- Have good working knowledge of basic computer systems.
- Are skilled in the operation of various hand and power tools and light-duty automotive equipment.
