We need K-12 TEACHERS Long-term & Short-term. CREDENTIALED AND NON-CREDENTIALED, for ALL GRADES, ALL SUBJECTS.
In the absence of the regular teacher, provides for appropriate learning experiences for students. Instructs and supervises students in a variety of settings. Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment. Performs other duties as assigned.
Long-Term and Short-Term Substitute Teachers, will facilitate student learning in accordance with City Schools’ policies and procedures in the absence of the Permanent teacher(s).

Essential Functions
Provides effective classroom/student management, clear instruction and implements lesson plans provided. May be required to develop lesson plans and assess student achievement in long term assignments. Utilizes a variety of instructional materials and available multimedia and computer technology to enhance learning. Collaborates with other professionals to implement instruction and related activities. Ensures the classroom and/or instructional environment is healthy, safe, and conducive to learning. Maintains accurate records and submits timely reports. Enforces City Schools regulations and policies concerning student conduct and discipline. Monitors student behavior in non-instructional areas as assigned or required and intervenes to control and modify disruptive behavior as appropriate. Reports all accidents, injuries, illnesses, and discipline problems to the appropriate authority. Travels with students on field trips as needed.
Performs and promotes all activities in compliance with equal employment and non-discrimination policies; follows federal laws, state laws, school board policies and the professional standards.
Minimum Qualifications
Education, Training, and Experience (to qualify for Degreed Rate of Pay): Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university for Short-Term Substitute Teacher Positions
Teacher Certification NEEDED for Long-Term Substitute Positions
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
General knowledge of the principals and practices of public education and the Board of Education’s rules, policies, and procedures.
General knowledge of instructional techniques, materials, and equipment.
Ability to instruct students and to follow lesson plans and instructions left by the regular teacher.
Ability to follow and enforce rules, policies, and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, administrators, and others.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, teachers, and others. Physical And Environmental Conditions The work for these positions are generally performed in a school environment. Work requires the ability to move within the school and classroom setting.
