Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a deep appreciation for Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards and delight our customers. This position requires attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and present sushi dishes with precision and artistry, ensuring high quality and consistency.
- Utilize knife skills to slice fish and vegetables accurately for sushi rolls, sashimi, and other dishes.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to plan menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhering to food safety standards at all times.
- Monitor food inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and food safety practices.
- Ensure all food handling procedures comply with health regulations.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role within the restaurant industry.
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and menu planning.
- Fine dining experience is preferred, along with familiarity in catering services.
- Knowledge of dietary department practices or experience as a dietary aide is a plus.
- Excellent knife skills and understanding of food safety regulations are essential.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining individual accountability.

Pay: $23.70 - $28.54 per hour
