Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sushi Prep to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong understanding of sushi preparation techniques. This role is essential in ensuring that our sushi offerings are fresh, delicious, and presented beautifully. The Sushi Prep will work closely with chefs to assist in meal preparation and maintain high standards of food safety and quality.
Duties
- Prepare sushi ingredients, including slicing fish, vegetables, and other components according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Assist in the assembly of sushi rolls, ensuring consistency in size and quality.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients.
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure all food is handled properly and safely.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely meal preparation during service hours.
- Participate in menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and new sushi offerings.
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of sushi as needed.
Skills
- Previous experience in the food industry, particularly in a kitchen environment.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
- Culinary skills with an emphasis on meal preparation techniques.
- Familiarity with menu planning and catering services is a plus.
