We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Sweater Designer to join our team. This role supports the development of seasonal sweater collections across genders and plays a key role in translating trend research into commercially relevant product. The ideal candidate brings hands-on design experience, a strong sense of brand alignment, and a deep understanding of sweater construction and materials.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and create innovative sweater designs that align with the brand’s vision and reflect current market trends.
  • Collaborate with the Design Director to ensure consistency and cohesion across seasonal collections.
  • Conduct research on fabrics, stitches, colors, and silhouettes to inform design direction.
  • Prepare detailed technical drawings, CADs, and design specifications for development and production.
  • Create mood boards and presentation materials to communicate seasonal concepts and product stories.
  • Participate in fittings and provide input on design, construction, and fit improvements.
  • Assist in the selection and development of yarn qualities, stitches, and techniques that support design goals and commercial targets.
  • Maintain a strong awareness of industry trends, competitive activity, and retail market insights.
  • Support design timelines and track progress to ensure timely sample development.
  • Partner with sourcing, merchandising, and technical teams to align on product execution and deliverables.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
  • 5+ years of design experience with a strong focus on sweaters.
  • Proficiency in a 3D design system is required, such as Shima Seiki, Browzwear, or CLO.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop); experience with PLM systems a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of sweater construction, yarn sourcing, and stitch development.
  • Excellent sketching and CAD presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Experience working with overseas vendors and understanding the development process from concept to final sample.
  • Knowledge of the off-price, branded, or licensing market is a plus.
Compensation/Benefits:
  • The approximate annual base salary range for this position is $95,000.00 - $100,000.00, which can vary based on role requirements, skill set, and years of experience.
