Program Specialist (Program Specialist I)
This position performs (journey-level) administrative support and technical program assistance work. Work involves managing workflow and documents, communicating information, assisting with travel activities and schedules, and performing administrative tasks. May provide training and guidance to others. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
This position:
· Assists with auditing travel vouchers, including researching and addressing inquiries and providing technical assistance over state travel regulations and processes.
· Reconciliation of Sircon time and expense reports.
· Performs administrative tasks to support day-to-day operations.
· Maintains personnel files ensures all areas are current and updated with Human Resources (HR).
· Communicates information regarding administrative matters to team lead and staff.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

This position requires:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to the assignment is generally preferred.
One year of experience in office administration or in a field relative to the assignment.
Note: Education and experience relevant to the position may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis.
Preferences for this position include:
· Experience in auditing and processing State of Texas expenditure and travel vouchers is preferred.
· This position requires demonstrated knowledge of:
· State laws, rules, procedures, and regulations relevant to job requirements.
· Office practices and administrative procedures.
· Business or program terminology, spelling, punctuation, grammar, typing formats, and word processing techniques and procedures.
This position requires demonstrated skill in:
· Problem solving and critical thinking.
· Using Microsoft Office software applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.
· Using personal computers sufficient to enter and extract data from related systems and programs such as Centralized Accounting Payroll and Personnel (CAPPS) and other systems required to perform the job.
· Managing multiple tasks.
· Prioritizing competing assignments.
· Communicating information professionally and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with agency staff and general public.
This position requires the demonstrated ability to:
· Communicate and work effectively with a wide range of people with varied skills, knowledge, and backgrounds.
· Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
· Analyze and solve work-related problems and work independently on a variety of administrative work and technical assignments.
· Manage and coordinate multiple tasks and priorities to meet necessary deadlines.

· Make decisions in accordance with procedures.
