Maternity BVM Elementary School seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support our educators in creating a positive and engaging learning environment for students. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, particularly in early childhood education settings, and possess a strong understanding of childhood development. This role involves assisting with classroom management, providing individualized support to students, and fostering an inclusive atmosphere for all learners.
- Assist teachers in the implementation of lesson plans and educational
- Support students with special needs, including those with disabilities, by
- Help maintain a safe and organized classroom environment conducive to
- Engage with children during playtime and educational activities to promote
- Monitor student progress and behavior, implementing behavior
- Collaborate with teachers to assess student needs and adapt instructional
- Provide care for infants and toddlers when necessary, ensuring their
- Assist in maintaining communication with parents regarding student
- Comply with policies set forth by BVM and the Archdiocese of Chicago
- Experience working with children in various capacities such as teaching,
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood
- Familiarity with special education practices and working with individuals
- First aid certification is a plus.
- Strong classroom management skills to maintain an effective learning
- Excellent interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with students,
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.

This position has an hourly rate of $18.00. An employee’s pay within the salary/hourly range will be based on many factors including but not limited to: relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs.
