Team Member

POSITION SUMMARY

Team members are responsible for assisting customers in the scoop shop. Team members are expected to be productive and effective, performing various duties including (but not limited to): scooping ice cream, handling cash, baking, cleaning, maintaining excellent customer service, and attending team meetings. Team members support and perform all job duties as directed by the Manager.

ESSENTIAL ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure all products are properly served to customers, as outlined in the Training Checklist
• Learn all operating systems, products, flavors, and standards outlined in the Employee Handbook
• Assist in the daily operations for the shift, including store and staff appearance, customer service, cleanliness, compliance with all safety and operating standards, merchandising of gifts, and production and inventory of all specialty cones, cakes, novelties, and baked goods
• Follow all opening and closing procedures and execute promptly
• Ensure customer satisfaction with friendly, timely, and knowledgeable service and proper product handling
• Ensure proper product portioning through daily scoop practice and tracking all lost product or scooper eat benefits
• Meet KPI expectations, including (but not limited to): upsell goals and specialty cone goals
• Follow cash register and cash handling systems established by Owner(s)/Management to ensure the accuracy of all register and cash transactions
• Follow all safety and cleanliness standards
• Accurately record all time worked
• Comply with mandated company policies as well as federal, state, and local laws
• Treat others with respect and dignity
• Offer feedback and suggestions to your Manager

ROLE-SPECIFIC ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• SCOOPER—scoop all menu items, be knowledgeable of all flavors and ingredients, accurately handle cash and adhere to cash register procedures, provide excellent customer service
• RUNNER—flip bulks, restock product, assist with other requirements
• SPECIALTY CONER—make freshly baked waffle cones and dipped waffle/sugar cones; ensuring accurate portion control and speed are essential
• CLEANER—wipe down all tables and chairs, clean the bathroom, sweep and mop, take out trash and recycling, wipe down front and back counters, clean back counters, make sure dishes are clean and put away
• FLAVOR COACH—assist guests by providing them with menu item or flavor ingredients
• ON-DEMAND — orders are accepted and made correctly, making sure that all items are bagged and labeled correctly; following the on-demand protocol when we are out of something.
• CAKES —Learning how to make cakes from start to finish, to include: taking orders down correctly, packing, flipping, and decorating properly and to standard

• Experience working in a retail shop , food service, or hospitality

• Loves ice cream!

WORK HOURS

• As determined by business needs in conjunction with your Manager
• Must be available nights, weekends, and holidays

TRAVEL & TRANSPORTATION

• Minimal travel may be required
• Must have reliable transportation
• If using your personal vehicle for any company business, must maintain a valid Driver’s License and state-mandated minimum level of insurance coverage

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Regular standing, walking, bending, twisting, crouching, reaching, and sitting associated with managing a typical retail shop environment throughout the day
• Able to lift up to 20 pounds periodically throughout the day
• Manual dexterity needed to scoop, mix, decorate and deliver product, use of office equipment

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.55 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 35 per week
