Overview
In this role you will join an outstanding cohort of students from a broad range of professional backgrounds to develop highly impactful public health initiatives on campus and beyond. In the first round of the internship, you will meet top Jewish medical professionals whose careers epitomize the Jewish values of caring for others. They are doctors, first responders, administrators, as well as founders of health initiatives which have already saved thousands of lives around the world. For your capstone project, you will draft an article or create a presentation addressing pressing issues in contemporary medical practice from a Jewish perspective.
Interns successfully completing the first round of the internship will be invited to collaborate on launching a breakthrough health initiative addressing clearly underserved wellness needs in local communities. To gain the maximum benefit of this program, students are encouraged to allot two or more semesters for the program. Students demonstrating superb leadership abilities may also be offered paid roles on the Student Board of the local Club.
Structure
As a J-Health Intern, you will participate in your campus’s weekly offerings such as community networking events, special presentations, site visits, and group discussions where you can explore the topic of your capstone from a variety of perspectives. (Approx. 1 hour per week for 8-10 weeks during the semester).
Additionally, in order to help set the direction of your Capstone, you will also meet with program staff and a sponsoring Professor or TA or other mentor on a preset schedule. (Approx. four 30-minute meetings).

· Students will also be offered subsidized rates for Olami public health-oriented missions, and general audience trips in the US and abroad such as Israel, Europe (Spain, Poland, Czech Republic), and South America.
· Students successfully completing the internship will be given preferred standing for summertime private-sector internships offered through our program JInternship.
