1.0 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
We promise a highly challenging field and wide scope of responsibilities, which will initially cover:
  • Delivering Theoretical Lessons: Teaching EASA ATPL subjects, ensuring clear and engaging instruction to help students succeed.
  • Mentoring Students: Offering guidance and mentorship, supporting students through all phases of their courses, especially those facing challenges with internal final exams and CAA exams.
  • Area 100 KSA: Instructing and assessing students on Area 100 competencies, with a focus on key skills such as Mental Math.
  • Assessing Student Performance: Conducting assessments, providing constructive feedback, and supporting students in their academic and professional growth.
  • Monitoring Progress: Tracking and evaluating student progress, ensuring they meet their learning objectives and course requirements.
  • Maintaining Records: Keeping detailed and accurate records of student performance and progress throughout the training.
  • Planning Course Phases: Collaborating with Ground and Flight School teams to organize and plan the various phases of student courses.
  • Collaborating with Other TKls: Working closely with fellow instructors to achieve high success rates for students in both internal and CAA exams.
  • Reviewing and Revising Training Materials: Evaluating the instructional materials, suggesting improvements, development of necessary materials, or adding relevant information where necessary.
  • Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday (weekends when needed). 5-6 hours per day in classroom on average, 2-3 hours per day for administrative work on average. Time of day can vary depending on class requirements.
  • Reports to: Chief Theoretical Knowledge Instructor (CTKI)
1.0 REQUIREMENTS
  • Has a degree or equivalent experience in aviation or a related field together with comprehensive understanding of aviation theory, EASA regulations, and ATPL subjects.
  • Holds an FAA or EASA ATP, and CFI/CFII/MEI.
  • Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident
  • Has proven experience as a FAA Ground Instructor or Theoretical Knowledge Instructor (TKI) or similar instructional role.
  • Possesses skills such as:
    • Strong communication and presentation
    • Proficiency in using educational technology and software platforms.
    • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
    • Ability to engage and motivate a diverse range of students.
  • Ability of adjusting teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and student needs
  • A strong commitment to maintaining and promoting a culture of safety within the learning environment.
3.0 PHYSICAL AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
  • The associate will be working in many environments inside and outside of the facility.
  • Associates will have exposure to aircraft, flight training devices and other equipment.
  • This position requires the utilization of most types of aircraft that AeroGuard Flight Training Center incorporates in its programs.
  • The position may require some medium lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Position may require prolonged periods of sitting or standing as well as bending and stooping.
  • Some out-of-state travel may be required.
