JOB SUMMARY
The Tire Technician I works under close supervision and direction This position assists in monitoring and maintenance of the overall condition of the tires on company vehicles.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when and where required.
- Under close supervision will change, repair and rotate tires; process wheel torque sequences; conduct and document fleet checks; maintain service truck readiness; request parts and tires; respond to offsite or route service calls.
- Track tire usage.
- Document tire shop operations and track time in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain repair order documentation to include repair description, parts used, and repair times.
- Perform monthly inventories as required.
- Immediately report any safety violations and correct unsafe acts or conditions.
- Comply with company safety policies and with applicable state and federal regulations.
- Attend safety meetings.
- May be required to drive a vehicle with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) not to exceed 26,000 pounds.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or its equivalent.
- Successful completion of assigned training in tire repair operations within the first 90 days of employment.
- Some mechanic tools from an approved list of tools.
- Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

- Knowledge of tire sizes and application
- Knowledge of job-related safety rules and regulations
REQUIRED LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS
- Valid Class C driver’s license
- Safe driving record for last three years
