Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Trade Surveillance Business Analyst (BA) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance and risk management within our trading operations. This position involves working closely with various stakeholders to analyze data, develop surveillance strategies, and enhance our monitoring capabilities. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in data analysis and project management to contribute to the overall effectiveness of our trade surveillance initiatives.
Duties
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define project scope for trade surveillance systems.
- Conduct thorough business analysis to identify gaps in existing processes and propose enhancements.
- Utilize data analysis skills to monitor trading activities and detect potential anomalies or compliance issues.
- Design and implement database solutions using Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and other relevant technologies.
- Develop visualizations and dashboards using Tableau, Power BI, or Looker to present findings effectively.
- Support the software development lifecycle (SDLC) by participating in Agile methodologies and project management activities.
- Create detailed documentation including process flows using Visio, technical specifications, and user manuals.
- Employ programming languages such as Python, R, VBA, and Bash (Unix shell) for data manipulation and automation tasks.
- Engage in ETL processes to ensure accurate data integration from various sources into trade surveillance systems.
- Maintain strong communication with stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives and deliverables.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in business analysis within a financial services or trading environment.
- Strong understanding of trade surveillance concepts and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in SQL for querying databases and performing data analysis.
- Familiarity with analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker for data visualization.
- Experience with database design principles and ETL processes using tools like Talend.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and project management best practices.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets effectively.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
