Job Description
We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic leader to manage the HVAC & Welding programs. This is a full time, professional position reporting directly to the Dean/Director of Education. As the leader of the program, the Program Director is responsible for managing the department using sound business principles and ensuring compliance with all regulatory, accreditation and company policies and procedures. This position requires some evening and Saturday hours.
The Program Director teaches in his/her assigned discipline, works with faculty to promote continuous improvement of the quality of instruction within the assigned program(s), is the lead administrator for the department, and, as such, is responsible for faculty training and development, coordinating and administering the academic program(s) and student outcomes and activities within the department.
Qualifications- Associate degree required
- Completion of an HVAC/R or Welding program resulting in a certificate of completion or diploma
- Industry certifications for HVAC/R route:
- HVAC/R Certified
- EPA Universal
- HVAC Journeyman desired but not required
- Industry certifications for Welding route:
- Certified Welder
- Certified Wedling Inspector desired but not required
- Certified Wedling Educator desired but not required
- Certified Resistance Welding Technician desired but not required
- Certified Welding Engineer desired but not required
- Expertise in interpersonal and verbal presentation/written communication skills.
- Ability to provide effective direction and leadership and work effectively and collaboratively with others.
- Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in either HVAC/R or Welding
- Prior higher education/postsecondary related teaching experience of at least 2 years.
