Position Summary:
The Transportation Supervisor position plans, directs, and coordinates the transportation operations and services within Greer Enterprises. This position will ensure that the company honors its compliance obligations, provides technical expertise on operational efficiencies, and makes modifications where needed. This position is responsible for developing strategies for facility expansion and new facility development to support the overall company growth initiatives. The Transportation Supervisor position reports directly to the Operations Manager of Greer Enterprises.
Position Duties:
- Lead and coordinate daily transportation and warehouse logistics to ensure efficient, compliant handling and movement of materials.
- Supervise and develop transportation personnel through coaching, training, and performance management.
- Identify operational inefficiencies and implement process improvements to enhance performance and compliance.
- Enforce adherence to DOT, FMCSA, EPA, and ISO 14001 regulations across all transportation activities.
- Ensure required documentation including manifests, driver qualification files, and compliance logs are properly maintained.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and spill reporting; ensure readiness and accuracy of all compliance-related records.
- Manage preventive maintenance and repair schedules for all company vehicles and equipment.
- Track transportation-related permits, registrations, and vehicle readiness.
- Plan and support capital equipment needs and lifecycle management.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training of drivers and support staff.
- Ensure timely and accurate driver timesheet and payroll processing.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure efficiency, compliance, and operational accuracy.
- Support budgeting efforts for fleet operations and logistics.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the transportation industry, including fleet maintenance management and leading a team of CDL drivers, required.
- Previous CDL driving experience highly desired
- Possess exceptional leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Must be a detail-oriented person and must have the ability to multi-task and manage their time.
- 3 to 5 years of hazardous waste experience preferred.
- Possess a current understanding of federal USDOT & USEPA regulations pertaining to waste transportation.
- Have a working knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook and Excel.
- Have a basic understanding of the responsibilities of each department within Greer Enterprises, LLC as well as the responsibilities of all co-workers.
- Ability to work with others as a team and to maintain a positive attitude.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $67,000.00 per year
