Location: Mount Clemens, Michigan
Shift: Nights, (36-hour weekly guarantee)
Hourly Pay Rate:
(Travel candidates) $55–$59
(Local candidates) $45–$50
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit. This role is ideal for a dedicated professional who excels in a fast-paced environment, provides high-quality patient care, and works well as part of an interdisciplinary team. The RN will be responsible for continuous monitoring, timely interventions, and patient advocacy throughout the care process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and assess patients’ conditions, including vital signs, telemetry readings, and clinical symptoms.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and in a timely manner.
- Perform essential nursing procedures such as IV insertion, venipuncture, and wound care.
- Manage airway support and respond to changes in patient condition or emergencies.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and post-discharge care.
- Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with ICD-10 and facility protocols.
- Participate in case management and care coordination across healthcare settings.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant environment by following infection control and hospital safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (required).
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a Med/Surg or Telemetry setting preferred.
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, IV therapy, and airway management highly desirable.
- Experience in critical care, trauma, or PICU settings is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of case management practices and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Exceptional communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
- BLS and ACLS certifications (required or must be obtained within a set timeframe).
- Commitment to continuous learning and adherence to evidence-based nursing practices.
