Job Description
Location: Onsite at our care center - 7900 Fannin St # 4000, Houston, TX 77054
The Triage Licensed Vocational Nurse is responsible for providing critical patient care and support in a fast-paced environment. This role involves both phone triaging and in-person patient care, demanding exceptional clinical skills, professionalism, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
Overview of the Role:
Patient Triage & Care: Conduct thorough phone triaging, assessing patient symptoms and medical history to determine urgency and direct appropriate care. Greet and prepare in-person patients for examinations, including taking vital signs and documenting all necessary information.
Clinical Support & Procedures: Assist physicians during exams and procedures, administer injections, and provide patient education. Perform Non-Stress Tests (NSTs) and ultrasound scans.
Emergency Response: Recognize urgent situations and initiate appropriate protocols. Maintain comprehensive documentation of all emergency events.
Administrative Support: Manage patient flow, participate in appointment scheduling, and collect payments. Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines and infection control practices.
Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
Athena EMR experience preferred.
1+ year of professional nursing experience in a clinical setting; OB/GYN experience is strongly preferred.
Proficiency in administering injections, performing phlebotomy, and providing patient education.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to respond calmly in high-pressure situations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Education, Certification, and Licensure Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited LVN training program.
- Current CPR certification.
Physical Demands:
This position requires the full range of body motion, including patient handling and lifting. Manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination are essential. The role demands standing and walking for extended periods. Occasional lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 50 pounds is necessary. Corrected vision and hearing to normal range are required. The ability to work under stressful conditions and irregular hours is crucial for this position.
Compensation:
The hourly rate for this position ranges from $28 to $34 per hour. Exact compensation will be determined based on the candidate's education, relevant experience, and location.
