Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Utilities Project Manager – Gas, for one of our offices in Sacramento, CA. This role is open to remote work.
SUMMARY:
This role will support the Utilities Project Manager by coordinating utility and railroad work with internal teams and third parties. Builds strong working relationships, monitors progress, resolves issues, and ensures alignment with project goals and timelines. Maintains tracking systems and provides regular status updates.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate with the client, Design Builder, PCM teams, and third-party utilities or railroads, attend meetings, review project documents, report on discovered utility/railroad issues
- Report on discovered utility/railroad issues and participate in issue resolution
- Prepare status reports, maintain tracking log for issues and resolutions
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Have 7+ years of experience in the utility/railroad field
- Experience reviewing utility/railroad designs to ensure compliance with utility/railroad land rights and design standards
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral), and the ability to speak knowledgeably with other consultants, stakeholders, other governmental agencies and individual citizens
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to track large data sets, and the ability to illustrate, analyze and convey those data sets effectively
- The ability to prepare technical correspondence and complete comprehensive reports; analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action; and collaboration skills for meeting established project goals and objectives
- The ability to identify potential land rights conflicts that could create delays for the project
- A general understanding of land survey principles, and the ability to read and plot legal descriptions
- A degree in engineering, business or law is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency and knowledge of computer software applications such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Project, Power BI, scheduling software and SharePoint
- The ability to maintain good communication skills and working relationships with third party agencies, management, consultants, private sector contractors, subcontractors, and their associations
- Experience in developing and reviewing alternative route studies
