The Animal Care Clinic of Concord is looking for experienced Vet Assistants/Vet Technicians. Our practice provides personal care for pet clients and owners for reasonable prices and is under new management as our very own Dr. Ueleke has taken over the practice. The Animal Care Clinic is one of the few privately owned facilities in Concord and is all about giving quality care as well as work life balance for our team.

Vet Assistants/Vet Technicians Requirements:
- Friendly, upbeat attitude
- Attention to detail
- 1-2 years on the job training Vet Assistant/Technician training
- Experience in the following:
- taking medical histories
- drawing blood
- placing IV catheters
- administering and filling medications
- restraining pets
- assisting in surgery when needed
- educating clients with discharge information or when approving diagnostics
- Strong communication skills, good judgment and be able to manage stressful situations with compassion and empathy
- Ability to work on your feet several hours at a time
- Team player
- Dependable, demonstrate strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and repeated bending and lifting
- Knowledge of medical procedures and animal handling
Vet Assistants/Vet Technicians Duties:·
- Feed, groom and weigh animals
- Clean cages and bathe animals
- Sterilize equipment and clean examination tables and rooms
- Restrain animals during examinations or vaccinations in a safe, efficient and compassionate manner
- Soothe upset or frightened animals
- Administer medication prescribed by Veterinarians (e.g. by mixing it with food)
- Observe animal behavior or health condition and report to the vet
- Help in cases of emergencies
- Handle administrative duties such as scheduling appointments or calling patients in the examination room by priority
- Keep accurate records and logs
- Reassure clients that their pets are being cared for and explain issues (e.g. lack of appointments)
- Advise pet owners on nutrition and healthcare
- Communicate with clients in a friendly, compassionate and professional way on either the status of their pet, or any questions they may have
- Collect laboratory samples
- Obtain accurate vital signs on patients
- Document any changes of a pets condition and vital signs in medical records
