We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team at a busy veterinary clinic. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting veterinarians and ensuring the well-being of our patients. Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Provide compassionate care to animals, including handling, restraint, and comfort.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennels and treatment areas.
- Prepare animals for surgery by administering medications and monitoring vital signs.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and assist with diagnostic imaging as needed.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and post-treatment instructions.
- Manage inventory of supplies and equipment, ensuring all items are stocked and ready for use.
- Utilize aseptic techniques during procedures to maintain a sterile environment.
Experience
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and physiology is advantageous.
- Familiarity with animal catheterization techniques is a plus.
- Experience working with equine or large animals is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Strong understanding of pet care practices and kennel management is desirable.
