Job Summary
Colorado Veterinary Cardiology is looking for a veterinary assistant / technician! We are looking for someone excited to learn, work hard and enjoy a positive working atmosphere. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and welfare, providing support to clients and veterinarians and ensuring the comfort and health of our patients. This role involves a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment, requiring both technical skills and a love for animals.
Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, ensuring the safety and comfort of animals.
- Perform animal handling and restraint techniques to facilitate examinations and treatments.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennels and treatment areas.
- Assist with laboratory tests, including blood draws, urinalysis, and other diagnostic procedures.
- Provide basic grooming services as needed, including bathing and nail trimming.
- Educate pet owners on proper medication administration, etc.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure proper documentation of treatments.
Requirements
- Previous veterinary experience or training is preferred; experience in veterinary critical care is a plus.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and husbandry practices.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures.
- Experience with dog handling, animal restraint, catheterization, and X-ray processes is required.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare is essential.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
