Skills and Competencies
- Excellent shooting and video editing skills are essential
- Experience filming interviews in a studio with a multicamera and advanced lighting setup especially with the Sony FX family of cameras
- Professional knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, primarily Premiere, After Effects and Audition
- Experience recording podcasts and audio editing
- Strong and active interest in current affairs
- Demonstrable experience meeting tight deadlines without sacrificing quality
- Proven capacity to manage key aspects of video production, independently and with producers and editors
Education
- 3+ years professional experience creating digital videos at a major media or news organization; finance or business news focus advantageous
- A portfolio of digital media work
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in journalism, film, communications or a related field
Responsibilities
Moody’s Ratings is looking for an experienced videographer and video/audio editor to create digital media that showcase our trusted expertise on risk, covering key topics affecting global financial markets such as transition finance, private credit, digital finance and emerging markets. This video editor will collaborate with producers, editors and financial analysts to create original video podcasts, explainer and short-form videos, that engage and inform both current and new audiences.
The video editor will play a crucial role in a strategic refresh of our multimedia portfolio. As such, the successful candidate will be a resourceful, driven and innovative creator with a strong understanding of social video trends. We seek someone with a sense of curiosity, a passion for experimenting with different formats, and an eye for delivering exceptional quality.
- Work closely with producer, senior video editor, and host to create premier, digital-first content that delivers insights in a highly engaging way across channels and platforms
- Manage several projects at different stages of production within tight deadlines
- Facilitate in-person recordings with proper equipment, lighting, and conditions to ensure high production quality
- Orchestrate remote recordings that yield best possible audio and video quality
- Provide feedback to hosts and guests to help them appear and sound natural and conversational
- Edit video and audio based on the feedback of various contributors as well as your experienced judgement
- Provide all deliverables in a timely manner in accordance with established processes
- Repurpose and optimize content for social media platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and LinkedIn
- Upload and publish shows via major podcast distribution platforms
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $71,300.00 - $103,400.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
