Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions to students (TK-12) in various subjects.
- Coach/mentor students on campus. This may be during lunch time sports program, or on campus during a 1:1 meeting, with referral from the counselor for high-risk students.
- Develop and implement personalized lesson plans based on students' needs and goals
- Utilize effective teaching strategies to engage and motivate students
- Assess students' progress and adjust instructional methods accordingly
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to support students' academic success
- Incorporate learning technology and educational resources into tutoring sessions
- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment
Requirements:
- This is a volunteer role. Background check is required for all applicants.
- Paraprofessionals in various fields; Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (or currently pursuing)
- Previous experience in tutoring, teaching, coaching, or related field preferred
- Strong knowledge of subject matter and curriculum standards
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to adapt teaching/mentoring methods to meet the individual needs of students
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping others learn
- Familiarity with learning technology and educational resources
- Classroom management skills for group tutoring sessions
