This position retains and expands existing key personal and commercial deposit/loan clients and acquires new clients by aggressively cross-selling deposit accounts, consumer loans, commercial loans, and all other bank services. This position is proficient at business development and will be expected to consistently call on clients and prospects outside the bank. This position possesses the technical skills needed to underwrite, document, and administer consumer and commercial loans.
Primary Duties:
- Retain and grow existing client deposit and loan relationships; to include providing solutions to daily client sales and service inquiries.
- Coordinate opening of all Business and Consumer Depository accounts, to include cross-sales of other ancillary products and services, maintaining product knowledge, and ensuring compliance within bank policy.
- Participate in various professional associations and community activities to enhance the Bank’s visibility and to further personal and professional development.
- New Business Development. Solicit new banking relationships (Business/Personal Deposits and Loans, referrals to Wealth Management, Mortgage, Insurance, and other bank partners), through calling from prospect lists, external referral relationships, and referrals from existing bank partners.
- Evaluate Loan requests. Interview applicants, gather and analyze financial data to determine general creditworthiness and merits of the specific request, establish and negotiate, where necessary, terms under which the credit could be structured, including costs, repayment methods, collateral requirements, and other criteria.
- Work with Bell Bank Marketing and Compliance to ensure all bank product and service marketing materials are regularly updated to reflect accurate data and details. Review competitor products, services, and programs for recommendation of new ideas, enhancements, or changes to marketing material as needed.
- Resolve client problems, by obtaining details, research of data, and providing a solution to the customer’s satisfaction, whenever possible.
- Process daily overdrafts
- Keep technical exception report to a minimum.
- Serve as one of the primary contacts for Private Banking Department when clients come into the bank and/or over the phone.
- Know by name and face as many customers and employees as possible, calling them by name as often as possible.

- Conduct activities consistent with established Bell Bank policies, procedures and systems, the Bell Bank Employee Conduct policies, the Bank Secrecy Act and all applicable state and federal laws and regulations.

Job Skills Required:
- B. A. in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field.
- Minimum of one to two years of consumer or commercial banking experience.
- Working knowledge of loan and deposit documentation.
- Good working knowledge of rules, regulations and internal policies and practices relating to retail loan underwriting and documentation.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Proficiency with computer technology.
- Effective time management and organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks, meet deadlines and work independently.
