Summary
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Warehouse Sanitation Manager to lead and oversee all sanitation operations across two shifts in a high-volume, 7-day-per-week warehouse environment. This role will manage approximately 30 sanitation employees (16–17 on 1st shift, 5 on 2nd shift daily), ensuring the facility meets cleanliness standards, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.
The Sanitation Manager will play a key role in maintaining a safe and hygienic work environment, driving continuous improvement, and developing the sanitation team across both shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily sanitation operations for both first (16–17 staff) and second (5 staff) shifts, ensuring cleanliness standards are consistently met.
- Supervise and lead a team of approximately 30 direct reports, including scheduling, time management, training, performance feedback, and employee development.
- Ensure full compliance with all local, state, and federal sanitation and safety regulations (OSHA, FDA, GMP, etc.).
- Collaborate closely with warehouse operations, maintenance, and safety teams to coordinate cleaning schedules and minimize disruption.
- Develop and enforce sanitation procedures, cleaning schedules, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain detailed documentation for inspections, chemical use, training records, and audits.
- Conduct regular inspections and internal audits to ensure sanitation effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Order and manage sanitation supplies, PPE, and cleaning chemicals, ensuring cost control and inventory accuracy.
- Lead sanitation training programs for new and existing team members.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork across shifts.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in sanitation management, preferably in a warehouse, distribution, or food-grade environment.
- Proven leadership experience managing teams of 20+ employees across multiple shifts.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning methods, sanitation chemicals, safety practices, and regulatory compliance (GMP, OSHA, HACCP a plus).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends as part of a 7-day operation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and sanitation management systems/tools.
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced warehouse environment with variable temperatures.
- Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and the use of sanitation equipment.
- Will be required to wear appropriate PPE and follow safety protocols at all times.
