Job Summary:
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for coordinating and executing the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies. This role plays a key part in ensuring inventory accuracy and timely delivery of goods. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and has experience in warehouse operations.
Duties
- Receive incoming shipments and verify contents against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect received items for damage, shortages, or quality issues.
- Accurately document all incoming and outgoing shipments in inventory systems.
- Prepare and package items for shipment, including labeling and documentation.
- Coordinate pickups and deliveries with carriers and internal departments.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely.
- Operate company vehicles with trailer for local deliveries, as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Assist with inventory operations, including cycle counts.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, carriers, and internal staff regarding shipment schedules or issues.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 3+ years of warehouse, shipping, or receiving experience preferred.
- Familiarity with inventory software and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (certification preferred).
- Clean driving record & valid driver’s license
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Basic computer skills (email, data entry, spreadsheets).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and recordkeeping.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures both inside and outside warehouse.
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced warehouse setting.
- Exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and dust.
- May require occasional overtime.
