Warehouse Specialist
MGM Industries is seeking a safety-conscious, problem-solving, service-oriented, and detail-driven Warehouse Specialist. The ideal candidate will be organized, possess strong communication skills, and demonstrate ownership of their responsibilities.
The Warehouse Specialist plays a key role in maintaining efficient warehouse operations by pulling, transporting, and restocking inventory in accordance with FIFO standards. This role requires flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to support multiple departments as needed. The ideal candidate will be proactive in assessing workflows, making recommendations, and implementing organizational improvements to enhance productivity.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Operate forklifts safely and professionally.
- Use wireless RF scanning equipment to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Transport materials to and from the production line.
- Maintain clean and organized plant and inventory areas.
- Receive and inventory raw materials.
- Reconcile inventory variances for finished goods and raw materials.
- Load and unload dry-van and flatbed trailers.
- Adapt to changing work priorities and opportunities.
- Work overtime as needed.
Work Environment
- Ability to bend, lift, squat, twist, stand, sit, and move repetitively for 8–10 hours per day.
- Willingness to work in outdoor conditions (heat, cold, and wet environments).
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Required PPE: Safety glasses and hearing protection when on the manufacturing floor.
- Moderate noise level environment.
Technical & Functional Skills
- Forklift Operation – 1–2 years of hands-on forklift experience (preferred).
- Warehouse Operations & Inventory Management – 1+ years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environments.
- RF Scanning / Inventory Systems – 1+ years using wireless scanners and ERP.
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) – 1+ years of basic proficiency (data entry, inventory reconciliation, reporting).
- Loading/Unloading Trailers & Material Handling – 1+ years, preferably with dry-van and flatbed trailers.
- Communication & Teamwork – 2+ years in roles requiring cross-department collaboration.
- Problem-Solving & Initiative – Demonstrated ability (1–2 years) to troubleshoot inventory variances and suggest improvements.
- Time Management & Adaptability – At least 1 year of experience in fast-paced environments requiring shifting priorities.
- Reliability & Attendance – Proven track record in prior positions (2+ years).
- Ability to Work in Varied Environments (heat, cold, wet, noise) – Demonstrated tolerance through past warehouse or industrial roles (1+ year).
Education & Certifications
- High School Diploma or GED – Preferred.
- Forklift Certification – Strongly preferred; certification can be in-house or third-party (prior certification or ability to obtain within 90 days).
