Are you passionate about construction and maintenance, and eager to work outdoors? The City of Oshkosh is looking for dedicated Water Utility Workers to join our team. This role is crucial for maintaining and constructing essential water utility infrastructure, ensuring our community receives safe and efficient water services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Construction & Maintenance: Repair, replace, and maintain water services, mains, hydrants, valves, and valve boxes. Install and fix water service applications, conduct soil classification, and detect and address water leaks.
- Operational Duties: Turn water services on/off, thaw meters, and flush hydrants. Respond to citizen complaints regarding water-related issues.
- Emergency Response: Attend to after-hours emergencies like main breaks and service leaks.
- Equipment Handling: Operate various equipment essential for constructing and maintaining water works facilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Educational Background: A high school diploma or equivalent.
- License: Class B CDL with no air brake restriction is needed at the time of application.
