Facilities Student Assistant
Job Summary: We are looking for enthusiastic and eager-to-learn students to join our team as a Facilities Student Assistant. This position offers a unique opportunity to shadow and work alongside experienced professionals in various skilled trades, including landscape, renovation, restoration, facility maintenance, HVAC, and mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will gain hands-on experience and valuable insights into these trades while contributing to the maintenance and improvement of our campus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shadow skilled trades professionals in renovation, restoration, facility maintenance, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Assist with tasks such as painting, carpentry, general repairs, and maintenance.
- Support HVAC system maintenance and troubleshooting under the guidance of experienced technicians.
- Aid in mechanical system inspections and repairs.
- Learn and apply safety protocols and guidelines in all tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and effective project completion
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled at Ft. Hayes Vocational school through Columbus City Schools
- Interest in learning about various skilled trades and facility maintenance.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects.
