Located in Glendale, California, RK Legal seeks a motivated, energetic individual looking to gain extensive legal experience in workers' compensation law.
This is an in-person, full-time job with the following schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
The ideal candidate is organized, a self-starter, mature, dependable, hardworking and MUST have at least 1 years' worth of experience working in the specialty of workers' compensation law.
The primary duties/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Conduct initial consultations and meetings with prospective clients under the handling attorney's supervision;
- Assist the handling attorney with drafting workers' compensation applications, correspondences, notices, petitions, objections, deposition notices, completing IMR applications, initiating PQME panels, scheduling medical appointments, scheduling depositions, setting AME/PQME evaluation appointments, subpoena medical records, etc.
- Assist the handling attorney with reviewing medical reports, serving PTP's with AME/PQME reports for further treatment or if client is P&S;
- Prepare files for hearings, including trials, MSC's, Priority Conferences, Status Conferences, Expedited hearings and depositions by drafting case summaries, creating medical indexes, preparing trial exhibits, etc.;
- Maintain the Master Calendar and update tasks/deadlines and firm calendar daily;
- Scan and review incoming mail and answer phones;
- Appear in WC hearings (e.g. directly communicate with the WC Judge, insurance company, and/or defense attorney);
- Must have reliable transportation as travel to/from the WCAB may be required.

Desired Skills & Experience
-Spanish speaking preferred.
-1+ year workers' compensation law firm experience required. If this requirement is not met, your application will automatically be disqualified.
