GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Provides evidence-based intervention training and education to parents, communities, schools, service providers, and others to promote and address multiple areas of child wellness.
Job Duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Stays current with new evidence-based intervention research and practices.
- Analyzes needs of families and communities to provide appropriate evidence-based resources.
- Develops and conducts training, screenings, assessments, and presentations regarding evidence-based intervention and parenting skills to parents/caregivers, organizations, and communities.
- Develops networks and collaborates with other Cherokee Nation programs and outside organizations.
- Creates formal referral pathways for services and makes referrals for services to appropriate service providers.
- Determines the suitability of various evidence-based interventions in multiple settings.
LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Performs work under general supervision.
- Handles moderately complex issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter.
- May provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to subordinate group.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university in Social Work, Child and Family Sciences, Child Development, Psychology, Community Health Education (not exercise or kinesiology), Public Health and Elementary Education; no substitutions.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- At least six (6) months experience in a related field.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
- Must possess and maintain certification and training for any assessment that requires it to be administered and interpreted.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six months of employment and maintain throughout employment.
- Must obtain any certifications required during the course of employment and maintain throughout employment.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
- Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care.
