Agile Project Manager
Description du poste
The role
We are looking for an Agile Project Manager for SaySo on a six month fixed term contract. You will own the planning and delivery of our design and development work during a pivotal six months for the product. Reporting to the Head of Product and based in the UK, you will work closely with our designers, in-house engineers and external development partner to make sure the right things get built, in the right order and on time. You will look ahead to what we need to build now to launch a feature two months from now, and set that work in motion.
About SaySo
SaySo is one of the newest brands in the Caliber family. It’s a UGC news and information app where vetted independent journalists and subject-matter experts share curated, trustworthy content, and personalization controls let users shape their own feed. SaySo is live on iOS, and over the next six months our roadmap includes launching monetization and Android, growing our creator community, and shipping new features focused on retention and finding product-market fit.
About Caliber
Caliber is a media company built to define a new era for journalism.
All the brands in the Caliber family are shaped to reimagine how stories are created, shared and valued. We believe that modern audiences need to be met on their terms, in their tone and on their time and we do that by supporting storytellers with the tools, training and rigor to shape the world with integrity.
With newsrooms in New York and London, we are supported by a global network of creators who are trained in the rigor and craft of journalism, vetted by senior editorial talent and supported by a leading production team – all working together to cut through with purpose, context and credibility. From breaking news to emerging trends, we deliver stories that matter, shaped by robust measurement and a deep understanding of digital platforms.
We value – candor, curiosity, courage and commitment.
The role will include:
Planning and delivery
- Turn the product roadmap into a dated delivery plan, with milestones, dependencies and risks mapped out.
- Run sprint ceremonies – sprint goals, prioritization, capacity planning, kick-offs, daily stand-ups and retrospectives – and track velocity from sprint to sprint.
- Set and hold deadlines, manage dev assignments, and keep design and development moving in step.
- Take part in regular roadmapping and product strategy sessions with product, design and lead developers.
Design and engineering handoffs
- Review design work against the brief before it reaches engineering, flagging any missing states, annotations or edge cases.
- Break features down into sprint-sized user stories, with clear, testable acceptance criteria that cover edge cases and error states, not just the happy path.
- Groom and prioritize the backlog with the Head of Product at least once per sprint.
Releases and ways of working
- Coordinate each app release, including release checklists, TestFlight (and later Play Store) testing rounds and go/no-go reviews.
- Review how we currently run sprints, design, development and our Asana boards, and put improvements in place.
- Keep Asana accurate and up to date, so anyone in the business can see where things stand without asking.
About you
- Delivery Experience: You bring technical project management, delivery management or scrum master roles, and you have helped ship consumer mobile apps on iOS and Android.
- Technical Fluency: You are comfortable reading technical specs, talking through API integrations and trade-offs with engineers, and you know the App Store and Play Store release process, including TestFlight and staged rollouts.
- Eye for Design: You can tell when a Figma file is ready for development, and when it is still missing states, annotations or edge cases.
- Clear Story Writing: You write tickets that engineers can pick up and build from – sprint-sized, testable and with clear acceptance criteria.
- Organized and Detail-minded: You are fluent in Asana or a similar tool, and you keep things on track in a fast-moving environment.
- Big-picture Thinking: You enjoy strategizing with the product team, solving problems as they come up and keeping everyone aligned on where we are heading.
It would be a bonus if you also have a Scrum or Agile certification (CSM, PSM or similar), experience with news, media, creator or UGC products, familiarity with tools like Customer.io and Monday.com, or QA and test planning experience.
The benefits we offer:
- Five months’ parental leave at 90% pay for all parents, regardless of gender or whether you’re the primary or secondary caregiver. Any remaining maternity leave is covered in line with UK statutory entitlements.
- Private health insurance, including cover for pre-existing conditions.
- 25 days’ annual leave.
- NOMAD week: work from anywhere for one week each year.
- The option to request up to two additional weeks of unpaid leave.
- A 4% employer pension contribution, matched by a 4% employee contribution, through Penfold.
- Access to our onsite gym, with classes available five days a week.
- Cycle to Work scheme and commuter loans.
Why Join Caliber? Together, we'll shape the future of news and storytelling, connecting with audiences in fresh, meaningful ways. If you share our passion for innovation, authenticity, and impact, let's make it happen.
