The story of Gen II Fund Services began in 2009, born from a vision to redefine the landscape of private capital fund administration. Founded by Steven Millner, Steven Alecia, and Norman Leben, the company emerged during a pivotal time in the financial industry, driven by a commitment to provide a higher standard of service and expertise to private equity managers. What started as a focused endeavor by three industry veterans has since evolved into a global powerhouse, recognized today as one of the largest independent private capital fund administrators in the world. From its headquarters in New York City, Gen II has charted a remarkable journey of growth and innovation. The firm was built on the belief that fund administration requires more than just processing numbers; it demands a deep understanding of the intricate needs of private capital asset managers. This philosophy has guided their expansion, leading to a team of over 1,700 professionals across more than a dozen offices in North America and Europe. Today, Gen II administers over $1 trillion in private fund capital, serving a diverse clientele that ranges from emerging managers to some of the most established global fund sponsors. Throughout its evolution, Gen II has remained steadfast in its dedication to technology and operational excellence. The development of their proprietary 'Sensr' technology suite stands as a testament to their forward-thinking approach, offering clients unparalleled transparency and data analytics. As they continue to grow, acquiring firms like Crestbridge to expand their European footprint, Gen II remains true to its founding principles: delivering bespoke, high-touch service that empowers fund managers to focus on what they do best—investing.
