Powering Great Work

We started as the place to find a trusted trade. Now, as we shape the future of home improvement, we're building the tech to transform that landscape for everyone - better products, smarter data, AI where it actually helps - so trades can spend less time on admin and consumers can find someone they trust, first time. That's Powering Great Work, and it's why every team here exists:

🔧 Trades spend less time on admin and more on winning work and growing their business

🏠 Homeowners get a trusted trade, first time, every time

🚀 We get to build products that change homes and lives across the country

The role

Cross Sales is a crucial team at Checkatrade. You'll be advising our existing customer base of tradespeople on how to optimise their marketing strategy through their account with Checkatrade. It’s a consultative sales approach, advising best practices, positioning our suite of products and handling objections to reach a positive outcome for the trade and Checkatrade.

It's a fast-paced, high-activity role. You'll have lots of conversations, most deals are agreed in one call or a few, and there are monthly targets. We're clear about what we expect, and in return there's real reward and room to grow, both in the team and as the company continues to grow.

The job, unfiltered:

  • Engage existing customers to advise and upsell.
  • Through the lens of optimising Checkatrades product suite, act as an expert for the trade, advising them on their marketing strategy.
  • Adopt a consultative sales approach, handle objections with confidence and close with clarity.
  • Keep Salesforce data tidy, accurate and up to date, so the next person picking up a lead can trust it.
  • Work with other teams to share insight, learn fast and keep hitting targets.

The fit:

  • Proven experience in a sales role, with a strong track record of hitting targets.
  • You're a confident communicator who's happy to pick up the phone and make things happen.
  • Resilience, drive and a hunger to exceed expectations.
  • Solid objection-handling and negotiation skills.
  • A proactive mindset and a knack for spotting opportunities.
  • Experience using Salesforce or a similar CRM to manage your pipeline.

(Don't self-select out because you don't tick every box. We'd rather meet you.)

Moorgate London

At the heart of Checkatrade lies a powerful mission: to be the trusted foundation of every home. Born from a community's need for protection against rogue traders following a devastating tornado in Selsey in 1998, the company has evolved from a local directory into the UK's leading online marketplace for home improvements and repairs. This origin story deeply influences their culture, which is built on a bedrock of integrity, safety, and community support. They are not just a directory; they are a champion for quality, rigorously vetting tradespeople to ensure that homeowners can invite workers into their homes with absolute confidence and peace of mind. The culture at Checkatrade is defined by a 'Be All In' attitude, where ambition meets a genuine obsession with customer satisfaction. Their team of over 500 individuals works collaboratively across hubs in Portsmouth and London, driven by values that emphasize doing the right thing and getting it done. They foster an environment where innovation thrives, leveraging cutting-edge technology to simplify the lives of both tradespeople and homeowners. This forward-thinking approach is balanced with a supportive and inclusive atmosphere, where employees are encouraged to grow, learn, and make a tangible impact on the industry. By connecting millions of homeowners with quality tradespeople, Checkatrade continues to build safer, happier communities, staying true to the spirit of trust that sparked its creation over two decades ago.
