Job description

Our client is a highly successful and growing Civil Engineering and Infrastructure client with a strong reputation for delivering complex projects across the Renewables and Power and Transmission sectors. Due to a significant increase in workload and a strong pipeline of secured projects, they are looking to appoint a Senior Civil Design Engineer to join their established team in the Highlands.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the design and delivery of major infrastructure projects supporting the UK's energy transition while working within a collaborative and technically focused environment.

The Role As a Senior Civil Design Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and delivering civil engineering designs across a diverse portfolio of projects. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will provide technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle, from feasibility and concept design through to detailed design and construction support.

A key aspect of the role will be the development and coordination of 3D models and digital design outputs, ensuring designs are delivered efficiently and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of civil engineering projects within the Renewables, Power and Transmission sectors.
  • Produce and review civil engineering designs, drawings, specifications and technical reports.
  • Develop and manage 3D models using industry-standard design software.
  • Coordinate designs with internal disciplines and external stakeholders.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, regulations and client requirements.
  • Participate in project planning, design reviews and technical meetings.
  • Provide technical support during construction and project delivery phases.
Candidate Requirements
  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in a Senior Civil Design Engineering role.
  • Strong background delivering civil infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working within Renewables, Power, Transmission, Utilities or related infrastructure sectors would be highly advantageous.
  • Proficiency in 3D modelling and design software, such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, OpenRoads, MicroStation or similar platforms.
  • Experience producing earthworks, drainage, access roads and infrastructure designs.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative office-based environment.
  • Chartered status or working towards chartership would be beneficial.
