His 16-year entrepreneurial journey is marked by a series of ambitious ventures spanning diverse tech domains like Drones, Consumer Hardware, B2B SaaS & AI.

Problems We Solve

Our country’s defense systems, conceived in a bygone era, have been outpaced by the rapid advancements in technology, revealing critical gaps that we, at Armory, are poised to bridge.

Modern conflicts, waged remotely, demand a radical rethinking of strategy as adversaries deploy inexpensive drones and technology to inflict maximum damage with minimal risk.

Requirements

About this role

You are the engineer in the field.

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you travel with our Business Development team to field trials, user evaluations, and NCNC (No Cost, No Commitment) demonstrations across India. On the ground, the system is yours from setup to operation to troubleshooting, and you are the person who talks technology with the user. You are also the link between what users experience in the field and what our engineering team builds next.

What you'll do

  • Prepare, pack, check, and deploy systems for trials and demonstrations, following pre-deployment, on-site, and post-trial checklists
  • Set up and run equipment in demanding field conditions, from deserts and high altitude to coastal areas, heat, cold and dust
  • Diagnose and resolve issues on site across hardware (power, cabling, connectors, RF chain), embedded Linux, networking and application software
  • Escalate to the remote engineering team with clarity: precise symptoms, logs, photos and what you've already ruled out
  • Run live demonstrations and explain how the system works, what it can do and where its limits lie, to audiences ranging from operators and JCOs to senior officers
  • Answer tough or skeptical technical questions calmly and honestly, without overpromising
  • Capture trial data, observations, user feedback and incidents in structured trial reports
  • Bring field learnings back to R&D as bugs, feature requests and usability feedback
  • Support BD with technical input for trial directives, compliance matrices and user queries
  • Train user personnel on operation and basic maintenance where needed

What we're looking for

  • B.E./B.Tech (or equivalent) in Electronics, Electrical, ECE, Instrumentation, or Computer Science, with 3-7 years of hands-on experience
  • Comfort working on Linux: shell, SSH, systemd/services, logs, file systems and networking (IP configuration, ping/traceroute, basic tcpdump)
  • Experience with embedded Linux, industrial IoT or field-deployed systems
  • A methodical approach to debugging: you isolate problems rather than guess
  • Solid electrical and electronics troubleshooting
  • skills

  • multimeter, power supplies, batteries, continuity, connectors, and reading a schematic or block diagram
  • Ability to read code (Python/Bash/C) well enough to follow logs and narrow down software issues
  • Clear, confident communication in English and Hindi, both technical and interpersonal
  • Composure under pressure, including when something misbehaves mid-demo in front of senior officers
  • A checklist mindset and an eye for detail, because a missed cable or skipped check matters
  • Willingness to travel extensively, often to remote locations, at short notice and for extended periods

Good to have

  • Experience with defence trials (DRDO, Army, Navy, Air Force, CAPF) or defence PSU field support
  • Exposure to RF systems, SDRs, antennas, spectrum analysers or drones/UAS
  • Experience with GPS/GNSS, rugged hardware or tactical networking
  • Familiarity with military structure, ranks and protocol
  • Field documentation experience such as trial reports, test procedures and acceptance test protocols
  • Comfort with Android devices and debugging over adb

You'll thrive here if you are

  • A first-principles thinker who asks "what must be true for this to work?" before swapping parts
  • Good with ownership, because the trial outcome would be your responsibility, not just a task
  • Someone who is happy to say "I don't know, I'll find out", honest under scrutiny
  • Physically fit and at ease in austere conditions
  • Down-to-earth, and just as ready to carry equipment, set up a mast, or debug a connector at 6 a.m. as to run the demo
