Job Description
Position Overview:
This positions serves LEONI’s North American Development Department with design expertise to create and maintain 3D harness designs. The candidate should possess the capabilities to independently process customer designs and to represent LEONI in front of our customers. This position reports directly to our Head of Harness Design in Troy, Michigan.
Job Profile Description
- Create 3D routing for wiring harnesses using 3D NX and Teamcenter software tools
- Make design/routing proposals to the responsible engineer
- Communicate with customer engineering departments on sheet metal requirements and interferences
- Analyze and meet all customer designs/requirements
- Ensure that all design data is robust and sufficient for processing, and raise relevant technical queries
- Communicate directly with the customer’s technical department to clarify designs are resolve issues
- Assist in the performance of design tools eg. DFMEA, DFM, Design Reviews
- Support all customer meetings and requests
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Engineering or Associate degree (Mechanical/Electrical/Automotive preferred)
- 3 years’ using 3D CAD tools for automotive wiring applications
- 3 years’ experience in Automotive Electrical/Electronics Design preferably with Stellantis
- Proficient English speaking and writing skills
- Microsoft Office Skills
- Good team work and interpersonal skills
- Problem solving skills
