Position 3-1 QHSE Officer

Duties and Responsibilities

· Ensure QHSE is an integral part of the company operations. This includes meeting all relevant legal and corporate requirements and embedding a positive QHSE culture across the company.

· Develop QHSE policies, procedures and processes, and ensure they are communicated and implemented across the company.

· Undertake regular risk assessments for the company and establish risk registers in conjunction with each company responsible person.

· Identify potential hazards, ensure that risks are reported at the required levels within the company, suggest ways of risk reduction and ensure that mitigating strategies are implemented.

· Keep up to date with all aspects of quality and safety legislation and communicate relevant changes to the Management.

· Advise Management and assist with the implementation of new QHSE-related legislation.

· Ensure a safe environment for all, eliminating any risk through safe operational practices.

· Establish a comprehensive programme for QHSE inspections, audits and checks.

· Undertake regular prevention inspections to company site and ensure their records are maintained (including fire prevention and other general aspects).

· Undertake inspections to contractors’ site (when duly requested).

· Thoroughly investigate and document incidents, accidents, complaints and cases where QHSE issues are concerned.

· In conjunction with company management, establish a structured training programme on QHSE throughout the company, which contributes to employees’ safety awareness.

· Compile monthly statistics, and documents on QHSE.

· Provide regular reports to the Management on relevant QHSE activities.

· Participate in meetings, when required, to report on QHSE matters.

· Liaise with external third parties as and when required.

· Assists in obtaining quality accreditations, facilitating and driving the processes to ensure that all requirements are met.

· Support all company departments in undertaking quality improvement projects.

· Any other reasonable duties which may be required by the Management from time to time.

Knowledge and Skills

· Knowledge and sound practice in emergency procedures and risk evaluation

· Knowledge in preparing and reviewing of documents related QHSE

· Superior training skills in safety and quality

· Professional approach with strong interpersonal skills

· Excellent planning, organization and time management skills

· Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills, including report writing skills

· Ability to work on own initiative and adapt to changing environments

· Ability to work co-operatively with others to complete tasks and implement process improvements

· Ability to solve issues


· Bachelor’s degree in a health, safety, or environmental field of study

· Professional certification, such as Six Sigma, Quality Engineer, NEBOSH, OSHAS or equivalent

· 3 years’ experience in a QHSE management role

· Experience in writing reports and policies for QHSE

· Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics

· Proficient in MS Office

· Outstanding organizational skills

· Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain QHSE topics
