The long-term goal of this research is to understand the underlying molecular mechanisms of how oncogenic signaling regulates metabolism reprogramming to promote tumor growth and to identify the key molecular targets to treat malignancies. His lab is dedicated to translational research, assessing molecular alterations in cancer patient tissues thus obtaining insights from patient care.
Key Responsibilities:Design and manage complex scientific investigations of tumor metabolism and oncogenic signaling pathways with the goal of developing novel therapies for cancer treatment
Collaborate with Principal Investigator (PI) to develop, manage and implement research projects across a variety of fields from microbiology to gene expression to metagenomics to transcriptomics
Extract, analyze, and evaluate experimental data
Develop and establish research controls and standards, including animal models (mouse)
Plan and write manuscripts, articles, abstracts, and research reports for publication in scientific journals
Investigate potential sources of funding and make recommendations to PI
Negotiate and oversee equipment service contracts and repairs
Provide training of research staff in executing new research methods
Minimum Education Required:
Doctoral Degree in biology, biological sciences, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience required
Required Qualifications:
5 years of experience in biological/health science research capacity required
Experience in a progressively responsible administrative capacity preferred
Extensive experience planning & developing projects preferred
Extensive knowledge and expertise in molecular biology, biochemistry, cancer biology, and animal models (mice) preferred
Requires successful completion of a background check
The selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen
The Ohio State University is a dynamic community of diverse resources, where opportunity thrives and where individuals transform themselves and the world. The Ohio State University is one of the nation’s largest and most comprehensive public universities and a top employer in Ohio.
As one of only 50 designated comprehensive cancer centers in the nation, The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute is dedicated to the creation of knowledge in laboratory, clinical and population-based cancer research. We apply those discoveries to develop more effective approaches to cancer prevention, diagnosis, and therapies – providing tomorrow’s standard of care today. A Cancer-Free World Begins Here.
The OSUCCC – James is the only cancer program in the United States that features a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center aligned with a nationally ranked academic medical center and a freestanding cancer hospital on the campus of one of the nation’s largest public universities. is the only cancer program in the United States that features a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center aligned with a nationally ranked academic medical center and a freestanding cancer hospital on the campus of one of the nation’s largest public universities.
