About the Role: We are seeking a Senior Accountant to play a pivotal role in the early stages of our accounting department's development. Based in Williamsburg, VA, this position is ideal for a candidate who is not only skilled in accounting but also passionate about building and enhancing accounting processes within a well-established company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and management of our accounting department, including the establishment of robust accounting processes and systems.
• Comprehensive management and analysis of accounting records, with a particular focus on Profit and Loss (P&L) statements.
• Mastery in QuickBooks for precise financial data entry, reporting, and management.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Regularly reconcile bank statements and resolve any financial discrepancies.
  
• Prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Administer payroll processes and handle occasional reception of office mail, including important financial documents.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A minimum of 4-5 years of accounting experience, ideally with a focus on financial reporting and P&L management.
• Extensive experience with QuickBooks.
• Demonstrated ability to set up and improve accounting processes and systems.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Capacity to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
