For almost 100 years, Cleveland Country Club, the only private Club in Cleveland County, has taken great pride in its family-friendly membership lifestyle, amenities, dining, and special events. The Club has a Member Dining Room & Bar, three Banquet Rooms, nine Tennis Courts, an 18 Hole Golf Course, and future Pool Complex.

Job Summary:

Develops policies to control and coordinate accounting, budgets, taxes, and related activities. Administers procedures and systems pertaining to financial matters. Prepares financial statements, forecasts, and analyses for all administrative and managerial functions. Acts as the Payroll and Human Resource liaison.

Job Description:

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Manages and conducts internal auditing programs to help ensure that records are accurately maintained and that established policies and practices are satisfactorily and consistently followed.

· Prepares operating budgets and financial forecasts.

· Reconciles monthly ledgers including receivables, payables, bank accounts, asset accounts and wage accounts.

· Prepares the monthly financial statements for the Club, including the income statement, balance sheet, profit & loss statement, and any changes in the financial condition of the Club for dissemination to the Board of Directors.

· Prepares a full report of the year’s financial operations for presentation at the annual meeting.

· Attends weekly Manager, monthly Board, and other meeting as required.

· Maintains fixed asset ledgers and prepares depreciation schedules for monthly entries.

· Audits all Member’s and guest’s cash and charge expenditures.

· Checks function sheets and all banquet charges to assure that all receipts for Member’s and guest’s accounts have been posted.

· Responsible for all Member billing and collections.

· Safeguards all funds in bank accounts.

· Assures that revenues are properly and correctly deposited and supervises the drawing of all checks.

· Controls timely deposits of all funds and reconciles bank statements.

· Directs, participates in, and verifies the taking of inventories for beverages, food, supplies, merchandise, equipment, furnishings, and other Club assets.

· Accurately enters all approved vendor invoices and processes all payments to vendors.

· Negotiates and maintains contracts for maintenance of computers and office equipment.

· Processes bi-weekly payroll

· Negotiates and administers employee benefits including health and life insurance, worker’s compensation, and other employee benefit plans.

· Maintains necessary procedures for confidentiality relating to Club and employee issues.

· Negotiates and acquires property and casualty insurance to protect the Club’s assets.

· Verifies that all business licenses are renewed annually or as needed.

· Files annual business and property tax listings.

Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

· Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in accounting or financial management

· Experience in the hospitality industry, preferably at a Country Club or similar establishment

· Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, and financial reporting requirements

· Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

· Proficiency in financial software

· Experience with Club Management software (e.g., TAI/Northstar and Golf Premier 365) is a plus

· Proficiency in Paycom Payroll software

· Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data

· Detail-oriented and organized with a high-level of professionalism

· Ability to handle confidential information

· Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written

· Works well individually and as a team member
