Accountant

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, with the ability to manage financial records and ensure compliance with regulations. This role is crucial in supporting our financial operations and providing insights that drive business decisions. Local candidates preferred. Hybrid options will be considered for the right candidate. Wage DOE.

Duties

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Perform bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
• Manage journal entries and ensure proper documentation for all transactions.
• Conduct financial analysis and forecasting to support strategic planning.
• Assist in tax preparation and compliance, ensuring adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
• Collaborate with team members to mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance on best practices.
• Maintain organized records of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices.

Experience

• Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar role within the finance department.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
• Familiarity with financial analysis techniques and forecasting methods.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Previous experience mentoring or training staff is a plus.
