Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team at a commercial general contracting company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting project-related accounting activities. This role requires an understanding of construction accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform full-cycle accounting duties including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations
- Maintain and monitor job cost reports and ensure accurate allocation of expenses to appropriate projects
- Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Reconcile project billing and retention balances, track lien releases and compliance documents
- Support preparation of project draws and pay applications
- Work closely with project managers and estimators to monitor budgets and forecast costs
- Assist in preparing year-end documentation for external CPAs and auditors
- Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Perform payroll processing and certified payroll reporting as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3+ years of accounting experience; experience in construction or general contracting industry preferred
- Experience with Certified Payroll Reporting and prevailing wage requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
