Minnesota Inboard Water Sports is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Accounting Assistant/Title Specialist. As one of the largest boat dealers in the state, this person will be responsible for all titling needs across our MN dealership locations, all processed in our corporate offices in Excelsior, MN. This role will also manage warranty administration across all dealership locations.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Financial Transactions: Manage all financial aspects of vehicle (boat and trailer) sales paperwork, including billing, titling, and documentation.
- Compliance: Ensure paperwork accuracy and adherence to state and federal regulations.
- Tax and Fees: Calculate and prepare sales tax and license fees for sold boats/vehicles.
- Title Management: Review, process, and follow up on boat/vehicle titles, ensuring timely delivery and resolution of issues.
- Record Keeping: Maintain organized and accurate transaction records.
- Customer and Dealership Communication: Address billing and titling related issues, and handle customer inquiries professionally.
- Lending Coordination: Work with financial institutions to secure necessary documentation for boat/vehicle financing for our customers, as well as lien releases.
- Regulatory Updates: Stay informed about changes in boat/vehicle sales and titling laws.
- Daily Tasks: Process sales paperwork, titles, manage dealer plate registrations, and maintain inventory records.
- Issue Resolution: Address discrepancies and issues with titles.
- Documentation: Enter trades and inventory into the system.
- Customer Service: Maintain professionalism with customers and ensure confidentiality.
- Team Support: Promote a collaborative culture and assist with additional duties as needed.
- Title Processing: Handle paperwork for boat/vehicle titles, including filling out, transferring, and mailing.
- Customer Closing Appointments: Manage paperwork with our customers as they come in to close on their boats. This is in-person in our Excelsior location, and remote with our other dealer locations.
- Sales and Accounting Admin/Liaison: Help track all sales and manage various data entry around sales. This requires working directly with our sales teams and accounting department.
- Warranty Admin Responsibilities: Prepare, submit, and follow up on warranty claims. Reconciliation of warranty claims.
- General Administrative Support: General administrative support for accounting and other departments.
Overall, the role involves comprehensive management of boat/vehicle sales documentation, regulatory compliance, and customer service, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma required; Associate degree or higher is a plus; Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year in title clerk role preferred, or bookkeeping, or warranty administration. Experience with CDK software a plus.
