Position Description
This position will be responsible for teaching the assigned Nurse Aide courses which involve theory, skill demonstration in the laboratory setting, and the clinical component.
Wake Technical Community College is seeking interested and qualified applications to expand our pool of part-time, temporary faculty to be a part of the Nurse Aide Program Team. Openings for these positions may or may not be available at this time; however, after a review of qualifications, applicants may be contacted in the future. Adjunct faculty members provide quality, effective instruction in their assigned courses on a part-time, temporary basis.
Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions)

Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner and maintains an accurate course schedule. (Theory, Lab, Clinical)
Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance
Prepares thoroughly for each instructional, lab, and clinical
Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment
Grades and returns student work in a timely manner
Counsels students regarding grades and progress in the course
Use classroom materials that support the goals of the course
Uses assessment techniques to improve student learning and enhances instruction
Communicates well with staff and keeps department head informed of any concerns
Remains up to date on technology and methods of teaching with technology
Supports the department, division and college goals, providing requested data in a timely manner
Remains up to date with the mandatory immunizations, CPR and Nursing license
Keeps Lab and class materials well-organized and easily accessible
Maintains a systematic organization of lab and classroom materials and ensures resources are neatly arranged and efficiently managed.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Able to use a wide variety of teaching methods to promote learning
Demonstrates flexibility in adapting to varying learning styles of students
Be innovative, creative, motivated
Ability to exhibit positive interpersonal skills and work well with others
Able to maintain records accurately and be able to meet deadlines consistently
Good organizational skills
Knowledge of and familiar with technology and software including, computers and web-based resources such as Moodle
Ability to demonstrate all Nurse Aide Skills accurately and monitor the student’s skill performance during the class
Able to perform normal duties (theory, lab, clinical) with minimal supervision
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Demonstrates resourcefulness, initiative, enthusiasm, and a sincere interest in helping students reach their maximum potential
Requirements:
Nursing Diploma from a three-year program
Associates degree in Nursing

A current unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina
Three years' experience as a Registered Nurse
Two years’ experience supervising Nurse Aides
Must be able to complete clinical rotations in hospital and rehabilitation facility settings
Proof of clinical site documentation
This position requires standing, walking, and talking during much of the course, to include theory, lab and clinical.
Preferences:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing
Experience supervising Nurse Aides
Patient care experience
Teaching experience
