POSITION SUMMARY
Under general supervision, provides primary healthcare and performs approved medical services under the direction of a physician in accordance with the philosophy, goals and objectives of Pender Community Hospital.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs health screening of patients within the scope of medical ability.
- Performs health screening of patients within the scope of medical ability.
- Performs health screening of patients within the scope of medical ability.
- Instructs and counsels patients regarding physical and mental health on matters such as diets, disease, therapy, normal growth and development.
- Maintains awareness of community services, agencies, resources and health facilities.
- Assists the supervising physician in the hospital setting (where allowed) in providing patient care inclusive of, but not limited to.
- Documents accurate and ongoing assessments of patient status that reflect nursing interventions, patient responses, patient teaching and status of outcomes at discharge.
- Communicates and collaborates effectively with other health team members regarding patient condition, nursing plan of care, patient satisfactions needs and recommendations for meeting identified outcomes.
- Promotes and ensures patient safety in performance of all responsibilities.
- Participate in activities to support quality patient care at all locations.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Hours: Nighttime ER, Daytime ER (rotating weeks) and clinic coverage.
Experience and Skills:
Education and/or Experience
- Experience as a general Advanced Practice Provider in emergency room or primary care setting preferred
- Effective knowledge and familiarity with word processing, computer navigation, and e-mail
Certificates, Licensure, Registrations
- National certification and current license in state to practice as an Advanced Practice Provider
