Position: Aftercare Supervisor
Science & Arts Academy (SAA) is an independent, non-denominational, co-educational, not-for-profit day school for junior kindergarten through eighth-grade students located in Des Plaines, IL. SAA educates gifted children in an academically differentiated and enriched environment while recognizing the unique development of each child. Position Description:
SAA’s Aftercare Program provides a safe space for students to congregate after the school day until being picked up by a parent/guardian. In Aftercare, students of all grade levels can socialize, complete homework, play quiet games, and use the playground or gym, depending on availability and weather conditions. Aftercare operates from 3:35 to 6:00 p.m. when school is in session. Aftercare Supervisors have the following responsibilities:
- Provide supervision to Aftercare participants, overseeing their safety and adherence to rules/expectations.
- Manage after-hours visitor access to the school and the sign-out process for Aftercare students.
- Ensure the cleanliness and order of the Aftercare program spaces.
- Support the coordination of student extracurricular activity schedules.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- Work hours are 3:15-6:15 pm on all student attendance days, from the first to the last day of school.
- Must be 17 years of age.
- Reliable transportation to the school.
- Must complete all virtual and in-person training requirements prior to start date.
- Preference given to applicants available to work extended hours on a handful of days throughout the school year. I
