Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate, energetic, and responsible Afterschool and Summer Camp Teacher to join our team. This role involves planning and leading educational and recreational activities for school-age children in a safe, engaging, and supportive environment. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about working with children and capable of creating fun, meaningful experiences that promote learning and social development.
Although Afterschool/Summer Camp is your primary responsibility, outside of Summer Camp and afterschool hours your role will fulfill an Assistant Teacher position throughout the Preschool.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times.
- Plan and lead engaging activities such as arts & crafts, STEM projects, sports, and games.
- Provide homework support and academic enrichment during afterschool hours.
- Assist in the development of daily and weekly schedules that align with program goals.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment where all children feel respected and supported.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe learning environment.
- Support children in developing social skills and resolving conflicts.
- Follow all program policies, procedures, and licensing requirements.
- Attend staff meetings and training as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with children in a camp, school, or child care setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Energetic, creative, and dependable.
Work Schedule:
- Afterschool Program: Monday–Friday, approximately 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM during the school year.
- Summer Camp: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (or similar full-day schedule) during summer months.
- Everyday work schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (outside of Summer Camp).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
