After School Program Counselor
Seeking:
Philly InMovement is currently seeking a part time After School Counselor for our Queen Village (500 Kenilworth St) and Bok (1900 S 8th St) locations! Ideal candidates must have availability in the late afternoon - evenings.
We are looking for someone that fits in with . Ideal candidates take initiative with a positive attitude and have the ability to improvise. A patient attitude is a must! Ideal candidates are interested in staying long term and growing with our program.
Philly InMovement is a gym with locations in South Philadelphia. Since 2008, InMovement has built a reputation serving children and their families in the community by providing high-quality Gymnastics & Movement programming.
Responsibilities:
Ideal candidates would be able to commit to 5 - 20 hours a week, working 1 to 5 weekdays in the 3:00pm to 7:00pm time frame. More hours possible especially if interested in assisting with administrative work.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Planning and facilitating games and activities for the after school kids.
- Making sure the students attend the classes they are enrolled in on time.
- Ensuring that students work on homework and answering homework questions as needed
- Ensuring students are changed and in the right place for their after school activities
- Interacting and fostering close relationships with the kids and their parents.
- Strong communication with the location manager, other staff members, parents, and after school kids.
- End of shift cleaning.
Requirements & Expectations:
- Minimum of 1 year’s hands-on experience with school aged children.
- Movement background (gymnastics, parkour, cheer, dance, sports, acting) preferred and experience teaching kids a must.
- Proactive team player
- High organizational skills
- Able to move mats as needed.
- Up-to-date background check, CPR and child abuse clearance needed (done during hiring)
Compensation:
From $17 - $21 per hour (depending on experience).
