The Manager of Agricultural Compliance role will play a part in Compliance & Regulatory Affairs in a pivotal role supporting and executing the organization's compliance, regulatory, food safety, and quality assurance strategies. This position ensures adherence to governmental regulations and standards concerning egg production, housing animal welfare, and related areas while holding supply partners accountable to customer requirements. The Manager of Agricultural Compliance will collaborate closely with leadership in Supplier Relations, Compliance and Regulatory, and Food Safety / Quality Assurance to maintain operational excellence and uphold the company's commitment to compliance, quality, safety, and sustainability from our farm partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Regulatory Compliance & Operations Support

  • Assist in the daily management of compliance and regulatory activities within the organization's operations.
  • Support the development and implementation of strategies to ensure compliance with governmental regulations and standards.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to interpret regulatory standards and assist in the development of compliance strategies.
  • Prepare and review documentation required for regulatory submissions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor and report on pending changes in the regulatory environment, facilitating timely organizational responses.
  • Support the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and related documentation to ensure compliance with food safety, quality, animal welfare, and sustainability programs.
  • Assist in the review and approval of product labels to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Quality team to assess supplier and quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance measures.

Leadership & Team Collaboration

  • Provide support within the compliance and regulatory affairs function.
  • Assist in the administration of departmental policies and procedures, evaluating results and performance.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of training programs related to regulatory compliance and food safety / quality assurance.
  • Foster a collaborative environment, working closely with management and cross-functional teams to achieve departmental goals.

Continuous Improvement & Strategic Planning

  • Identify opportunities for improvement or efficiencies within compliance and regulatory processes.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to meet critical organizational goals and objectives.
  • Participate in strategic planning activities in collaboration with management.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in compliance, or a related field working with live animal production.
  • Bachelor's degree in Regulatory Affairs, Food Science, Animal Science, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of governmental regulations and standards concerning egg production and housing animal welfare.
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing regulatory and compliance documentation.
  • Proficiency in developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and related documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Commitment to upholding the organization's core values and promoting a culture of compliance and continuous improvement.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to travel to supplier facilities as necessary.
  • Ability to conduct site inspections and audits as required.
